The Backyard Ultra mode is very simple.
Every hour the runners start a 6.706 km (=4.167 miles) long course. You have exactly one hour to do this. If you don't finish the round on time and don't start again, you're out! No late start! Very easy! ;-)
The event runs until there is only 1 runner left on the course. => open end
The race takes place according to the official Backyard Ultra regulations of the American original.

07:00 a.m. to 08:30 a.m.: bib pick-up
09:00 a.m.: START Austria Backyard Ultra Frankenmarkt
1:30 p.m.: START Bambini and Children Backyard
4:00 p.m.: Award ceremony bambini and children backyard
Musical accompaniment and moderation from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m
Early shopping Sunday, June 30th, 2024 from 09:00 a.m
award ceremony does not take place for the Backard Ultra. Prizes and the DNF medal will be handed over immediately after the runner's DNF.
DNF the runner: If you are more drawn to the gastro instead of to the starting line, you have to deregister yourself with the organizers, hand in your timekeeping chip and receive your very own DNF medal in return.

Austria Backyard Ultra Team Challenge:
In addition, you can register as a team of 3 for the Austria Backyard Ultra Team Challenge.
Run together, have fun and motivate each other to achieve top performance!
As soon as exactly 3 participants have entered the same team name (please pay attention to the spelling and typos!), you are in.
Children Backyards: We organize additional children's runs for our junior runners.
Bambini Backyard (START 1:30 p.m. - 3 laps of 1.40 km each) => born 2016 - 2023 / entry fee: EUR 7.00
At the Bambini Backyard, you have to run 3 laps of 1.40 km each. As with the Backyard Ultra, all participants start the new round together, neutralized. Total duration 1 hour.
Accompaniment of an adult is allowed or desired for the very young.
Children Backyard (START 1:30 p.m. - 6 laps of 1.40 km each) => born 2011 - 2015 / entry fee: EUR 14.00
At the children's backyard, 6 laps of 1.40 km each have to be run. As with the Backyard Ultra, all participants start the new round together, neutralized. Total duration 2 hours.
ATTENTION: In all 3 children's competitions, the rating is based on the consistency of the lap times!
The winner is whoever completes all the laps with the smallest difference between their fastest and slowest lap.
Not the fastest win, but the most consistent!

The route is sufficiently marked and secured by marshals. After 10 laps at the latest, you already know the way blindly. 😉

The route mostly leads over a wide forest road. There are hardly any technical passages and it is easy to walk.

In the start-finish area there is space for chairs, a cool box, a sleeping tent or a small pavilion for the runners. First come - first serve! Runners who drop out early must give up space in the start-finish area. This allows runners who are still in the race to move closer to the starting line.

Sanitary facilities are available near the start-finish area.

Refreshment station is in the start-finish area. There is no aid station on the route.

The forest is a local recreation area and not a garbage dump. We move in nature and treat animals with respect. Inappropriate behavior in nature (especially throwing away rubbish) will result in immediate disqualification.

The run takes place at your own risk and on your own responsibility on a route that is not closed off or monitored. On roads, the StVO must be followed and the traffic observed.
The participant is responsible for accidents or injuries of any kind and must take out adequate insurance himself. The landowner and the organizer are not liable for this.

Refreshments during the run (water, iso, cola, coffee, soup, tomatoes, cake, fruit, salt, peanuts, salt sticks/pretzels, spreads, chips, and much more). Subject to change. There is no guarantee that the complete offer will be offered throughout the event. Breakfast for the 24-hour/100-mile runners is an egg dish.
